Exploring regional priorities low emissions and climate resilient livestock in Southern, East, West and North Africa

In May and August 2023, the African Climate Action Partnership (AfCAP) Livestock Community of Practice (CoP) hosted three inaugural regional livestock fora in Southern, East, West and North Africa. The aim of these events were to further understand the challenges, priorities and opportunities that were specific to each region and to create common messaging within each region. The fora convened key members and potential members from each region within the Livestock CoP and provided them with a platform for knowledge sharing, peer-to-peer learning and identifying key shared priorities.

These fora gave an opportunity to reflect on challenges in increasing low emission livestock ambitions in policy and implementation as well as an opportunity to actualise what has been written in policies. The fora focused on understanding pressing issues and sharing challenges which inhibit low emission development within the agricultural and livestock sectors within each region.

Attached below are the three outcome reports developed from the Southern, East, West and North Africa livestock fora for further insights into what was discussed during these fora.
